The Problem
One web page and an itch.io link. That's all Ludocratic Games had when the studio launched in February 2025.
No logo. No real branding. Nothing that set them apart from the countless other indie studios.
Ludocratic Games had a standout voice and an exciting debut game on the way — their website just didn't show it.
Not only did they need a site that felt like them, but one that players and publishers alike could take seriously.
That's where I came in.
Brand Voice Development
Confident, Not Corporate
Ludocratic Games is serious about game development. Their debut title, The Box is Alive, goes beyond a weekend game jam—it's a full production backed by a 10-person team.
The studio wanted to sound confident and professional, without feeling too cocky or corporate.
As a result, I developed a bold, approachable brand voice that balanced humor with confidence. This positioned the team as fun-loving gamers, without undermining their ambition and experience.
Website & SEO Copywriting
Copy That Pulls Its Weight
With their hands full with production, and their Kickstarter around the corner, Ludocratic Games turned to ChatGPT to help generate their website copy.
The result? Bland placeholder text that ignored both SEO and the studio's personality
That's where I jumped in to rewrite the entire website—weaving in search-driven keywords while still maintaining their “playfully bold” brand voice. This boosted both the studio and the game’s discoverability, while letting Ludocratic’s fun and driven personality shine through.
CMS Design & Layout
A Website With a Game Plan
The studio site was barebones when it launched. Details were sparse, the team was faceless, and visitors had no way to get in touch.
I stepped in to overhaul their UX in October 2025, and have been maintaining the website ever since. Some notable updates include:
Improving navigation by adding About, Game, Team, and Contact pages.
Adding clear CTAs supporting the studio’s game marketing initiatives.
Integrating cohesive branding and visuals for Ludocratic Games and The Box is Alive.
Together, these updates create a clearer user experience that keeps visitors informed and guides them toward the studio's key conversion points.
The Results
Since September 2025, I've optimized the studio’s website through on-page SEO, UX improvements, and ongoing content management.
I also created a dedicated press kit, giving journalists quick access to approved assets while ensuring players, publishers, and the press always have accurate, up-to-date information.
These efforts drove 1,000%+ year-over-year growth in website visits, expanded reach and engagement, and established the website as a reliable marketing hub.
Sept 2025 - May 2026:
↑ 1,074% YoY visits
↑ 949% unique visitors
↑ 1,389% page views
↓ 24% bounce rate
